WHAT WE CARE ABOUT
We want to join God as he makes all things new in the East Valley and around the world. Jesus said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He kicked that off at the resurrection, and He’s been inviting us to join him ever since.
We will relentlessly invite people to follow Jesus, to live the way he lived, and care about the things he cared about. We want to create a community that is obsessed with the Beatitudes, believing that the way of Jesus is the absolute best way to live.
Three words will define us: grace, grit and generosity. We have received grace upon grace from God, so we will extend the same to one another. Grit is about passion and perseverance, and we’re going to need both to live up to our name. One of the main ways we will care about the things God cares about is by allocating most of our resources towards those things. We will be an incredibly generous community, which means we probably won’t be very fancy.
We also want to be crystal clear that everyone is welcome at Prodigal Church, regardless of your gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or social status. You are not only welcome, but you are invited and encouraged to participate in any and all levels of leadership. We promise not to create any glass ceilings of discrimination against your God-given identity.
But while he was still a long way off,
his father saw him,
and was filled with compassion for him.
He ran to his son,
threw his arms around him,
and kissed him!
